The abandoned
Grand Trunk Railroad is a well-used hiking trail
that runs parallel to the Quinebaug River. Ice skating,
sledding and skiing are enjoyed here in the winter.
The park includes a 3-acre playing field for softball,
soccer and kite flying. It is handicap accessible.
There are many picnic tables, some with charcoal
stoves, and picnic shelters with large 4x4 charcoal
stoves. The picturesque quality of the land attracts
photographers, hikers, bird watchers and artists.
