Hopeville
Pond is actually an impoundment of the Pachaug. It's
habitat is that of sand barrens, characterized by
sandy soils that will not hold moisture and grasses,
pitch pine and scrub oak. Because of the unique
environment, birds represented here are not found
elswhere in Connecticut. Concession, restrooms,
parking, changing rooms, boat launch.
Recreational Activities: Picnicking,
camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, birdwatching,
field sports, nature trail and mountain biking.
