The forest includes the Goodwin Conservation Center, and interpretive museum explaining natural sciences and forestry. A managed forest taht interprets Connecticut forestry practices as a tribute to James L. Goodwin, a forester, who operated a tree farm on the property from 1921-1964.  Several blue-blazed trails and the Air Line State Trail are accessed from this site.  Parking, water, interpretive center, outhouses, boat launches, interactive trails.

Recreational Activities: Picnicking, hiking, boating, birdwatching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and horseback riding.
