Along with the Nipmuck
State Forest, Bigelow Hollow compirses 9,600 acres
just to the north
of Yale Forest. They create one of the largest unfragmented
forest areas in CT. Bigelow Pond, Mashapaug Pond
and Breakneck Pond provide recreation spots; Mashapaug
Pond is over 300 acres.
Recreational Activities: Picnicking,
fishing, hiking, boating, scuba diving, mountain biking,
birdwatching, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
